Working on some concept sketches for fantasy races (and the core characters to represent them). I love multiple armed people, and I LOVE trying to figure out how fantastic anatomy works. I have all this cultural canon I’m building up and trying to explore as well as build a consist look.
This little dude is an Obenga child, probably around 10. Obenga have curly hair that starts off near white and darkens with age, and is varying degrees of curly and kinky. Kids often sport fros, and older Obenga have elaborately braided styles. Clothes are loose fitting and draped, almost Grecian. This would be a summer outfit, I think. They like to paint themselves with stripes and dots as body decoration and social signalling, especially since piercings/tattoos are stigmatized (being the children of the God of Healing, they aren’t fans of marking their flesh with ritualized wounds).
I don’t have a name for him yet, since I haven’t figured out what naming conventions are for children. The society is very communal and not too keen on the individual, so adults go by the title of their profession and the town they live in. But kids? Not sure yet.
